Online setup, sessions, payments, and more — explained.

Class Days & Lengths

LittleQuills lessons are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with flexible daytime scheduling.

Families may choose the session length that best supports their student:

• 45 minutes
• 60 minutes
• 75 minutes

  • The full program runs for 28 weeks total, divided into two semesters of 14 weeks each.

  • Each semester includes consistent, focused sessions designed to help your child grow steadily.

  • All sessions are one-on-one and personalized for your child.

  • Tuition is paid per semester (14 weeks at a time).

  • Payment is required before the start of each semester to reserve your preferred session time.

  • Spots are limited and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Choose your preferred day: Monday, Wednesday, or Friday

  2. Select the course and session length that best fits your child’s needs

  3. Submit payment before the semester begins to secure your spot

All classes are held live each week using Zoom. Students receive Zoom links for their course before the start date, and they’ll use the same link throughout the 28-week session. There’s no guesswork — just click and join!

All class times are listed in Central Time (CST during standard time, CDT during daylight saving).
If you’re in a different time zone, no worries — we’re happy to help you convert times so you don’t miss a thing!

Yes! Students enrolled in a writing class may request paper editing and feedback.

Each paper is reviewed using the appropriate checklist and guidelines for the program. For students using the Structure and Style® approach developed by the Institute for Excellence in Writing, the IEW Composition Checklist is used. For students in Lost Tools of Writing, assignments are evaluated using the program’s rubric and expectations.

Students receive positive encouragement along with clear suggestions for improvement, tailored to their grade level and skill.

Parents may also request grading. Assignments are evaluated using program-specific checklists and may be recorded using a 100-point scale when needed for transcripts.

Note: Grammar courses are not formally graded, but students still receive guidance and support.

Yes! I offer group classes upon request. Families can request:

  • Sibling classes (with special sibling pricing)

  • Custom group classes for friends or co-ops (minimum of 3 students)

Group classes can be tailored to your needs and schedule, and a group rate is available. Just reach out if you’d like to organize a class!

To participate in an online class, your student will need:

  • A working computer with a webcam and microphone

  • A quiet space free from distractions

  • Any required texts or materials for the course

  • The Zoom link, which is sent out before class begins

  • Google Classroom Access – for assignments, announcements, and submission of work.

Tip: Encourage students to log in a few minutes early to ensure audio, video, and internet are working properly.

Yes! All students are required to have their cameras on during class.

This helps create a more engaging, interactive environment where the tutor can connect with each student, provide real-time support, and ensure everyone is participating.

If there’s ever a tech issue or special circumstance, just reach out in advance.

No — only enrolled students should be on camera and actively participating in class.

It ensures the tutor can engage directly with students, just like in a physical classroom. Background conversations, extra faces, or interruptions — even from well-meaning siblings or parents — can be distracting.

Of course, parents are always welcome to observe off-camera or reach out with questions at any time. If you’re interested in having more than one child join, ask about our sibling discounts!

Once payment is received and your enrollment form is submitted, your student is officially enrolled!

  • For the fall semester, Zoom invitations will be emailed in August, before classes begin.

  • For the spring semester, new students will receive their invitations in January.

If you haven’t received your Zoom link by then, just let me know — I’ll get you a link!

  • Refunds may be requested up to two weeks before the first day of class.

  • A $25 enrollment fee is non-refundable.

  • No refunds are given for missed classes. However, if you give advance notice, I will try to schedule a make-up class.

  • If the entire course is canceled by me, a full refund including the enrollment fee will be issued.

  • If I must cancel a class on a particular day, a make-up class will be scheduled.

At this time, all classes are private pay only.

I’m open to exploring how to become an approved vendor for state educational funds, including funding from charter schools or other state programs.

If you have questions about payment options or vendor approval, please feel free to reach out!
